Blood pens are relatively self-explanatory items used to store a small ready supply of blood. Rarely used for direct haematurgy, blood pens instead are used to dispense tiny samples of blood for tests and rituals, as well as in the signing of bloodbound documents.

The nib of the pen is a shallow needle used to draw blood from the user's veins, and a clicker at the top of the pen lets forth a single drop of blood - enough to enable writing in blood, or the distribution of a blood sample.
